The instructors at Cornerstone have gone above and beyond, when it comes to my daughter martial arts! … It has been an incredible experience working with one of the best instructor Ms.Devyn Gaudet. Our first Daughter is a very shy and introverted. To help her come out of her shell we enrolled her at Cornerstone after hearing so many great things. We can already see a difference in her following directions better, trying to be more social to being so excited to go every time saying yeh Tang su! , seeing her friends and best of all her favorite teacher Mr. Westbrook. We can’t say anymore great things about him. He is so gentle, kind but also strict. He is so great with all the kids. I highly recommend Cornerstone. I can’t wait till next year to enroll our younger one.

Where can I begin.
From the day of enrollment til the day we moved Cornerstone was such a wonderful experience to be a part of. My son who’s was so reserved and kept to himself has become such a different energize young man and I couldn’t be more proud.
Mr. Greene was both patient and stern with my son and his other students.
Commanded respect and gave respect to the kids in the same breath.
He even would play with the kids before and after class if they had time.
After being a part of this program my son is more vocal, he’s more attentive and though we aren’t currently attending he still tells me how happy he is that he got a chance to learn and have fun.
Best after school experience hands down and I recommend this program to any family that wants to teach their children about respect, courage and confidence.

5 months ago I read a lot of reviews, for a lot of martial arts schools near my home. I decided to contact Cornerstone Martial Arts. It was not a mistake, what was meant to be a good experience for my daughter has turned into an excellent experience for my whole family. As she started Tang Soo Do, I restarted my healing journey with their “Healing Warriors Society” now that I am stronger, I have enrolled as a student, as has my other daughter and my husband. I’m my late teens I did American Karate, this time I intend to go all the way to Black Belt. Mrs. Brittany with healing warriors has been great motivation helping me to overcome past injuries. Mr. Westbrook has been wonderful getting my girls motivated, and helping us to overcome obstacles. I really don’t regret at all the choice of schools.

I’m in absolute awe of this academy and all of the staff. I heard back from them as soon as I submitted the I treat form while sitting outside another martial arts school got over 30 minutes waiting on someone and numbers provided were out of service. They scheduled a FREE one on one class with my son.
I showed up very expectant but they EXCEEDED my expectations. We walked in to a sign with our names, welcoming us and instantly greeted by Mr. Westbrook! Miss Devyn came up and proceeded to do the one on one with my son. Within that short amount of time, my son stopped interrupting, talking out of turn, and not once asked for my phone while we discussed memberships.
THATS what made me sign up.
Today was his first class which I got to participate in and we had a blast.
Mister Westbrook is an amazing instructor, he’s respectful, he taught me a lot and it was so fun!!! I’m hoping to sign up also sometime in the future.

Will My Child Become A Bully?
A specific part of our preschool and kids martial arts classes at Cornerstone Martial Arts & Leadership Academy in Arlington is teaching respect, and teaching when to use their new self-defense training and when to NOT use them. We find that our students become more confident to stand up to bullies. And have more humility and kindness to others though their martial arts lessons.
Are Parents Allowed To Watch?
We encourage parents to watch their children in their kids martial arts lessons. We love parents getting involved! And so do their kids. Even better… join into some of our martial arts classes for adults. Your kids will love that you have something in common. It will build a strong family bond!
Additionally, if you wanted some ‘me-time’? Simply drop them off, and go grab a coffee. They will greet you with a huge smile when you return, because they had SO much fun!
Do I Need To Be Fit For This?
No, not at all! We find that people start at varying fitness levels. But, you will find that you do get fit by doing our Arlington martial arts classes. Isn’t that the point though? A fun workout that gets results!
How Long Until I Get My Black Belt?
Truthfully, the journey to Black Belt is an individual one. Everyone can progress at a different pace. There is no judgement on students for how long it does take. What we can tell you, is that it is SO WORTHWHILE!
The self defense skills you will master can truly be life-saving!
However, the other benefits of striving for Black Belt, like perseverance, never giving up, commitment and self discipline lead to life-long success.

What Do I Need To Bring To My First Martial Arts Lesson?
Make sure you wear comfortable clothes you can do sport in! Not really suitable to practice kicks in a skirt.
Be sure to bring a water bottle to your martial arts classes. You will find Cornerstone Martial Arts & Leadership Academy in Arlington have martial arts classes for kids and adults that are a great workout and lots of fun! Most students are grinning from ear to ear by the end of the class. I am sure you will be too!
I'm Not Very Sporty or Coordinated, Will That Be A Problem?
Not at all. In fact, many students starting in our adult martial arts classes would describe themselves like that before they started. So you will fit right in!
Give yourself some time, and you will be astounded at how much you improve! You’ll find that our very experienced martial arts Instructors, are trained to keep their teaching simple. So even the most uncoordinated person will develop ‘ninja-like’ skills! Come see for yourself!
